Funeral Live Streaming, Videography & Photography in Oxford | Oxfordshire
I'm Shaun, and I provide professional funeral live streaming, funeral videography and funeral photography across Oxford and the wider Oxfordshire area — from historic city centre churches and college chapels to crematoriums, natural burial grounds and venues across the county.
Oxford is one of the most historically significant cities in the UK, and its churches and venues reflect that — Saxon foundations, medieval stone, soaring collegiate architecture. Filming in these settings requires both technical preparation and a genuine sensitivity to the atmosphere they create. I arrive early, set everything up before guests arrive, and work closely with the funeral director throughout so that you and your family can focus entirely on the day.
Real Oxford Funerals — Two Case Studies from the City
Oxford is one of the areas where I have the strongest real evidence of work done — two very different services, both involving the same independent funeral director, both documented in full.
Cinematic Funeral Videography — Stephen Charles Dixon, St Michael at the North Gate
One of the most memorable services I have filmed in Oxford took place at St Michael at the North Gate — one of the oldest churches in the city, with Saxon origins dating back over 1,000 years, standing at the heart of Oxford on Cornmarket Street.
I provided funeral videography for Stephen Charles Dixon's funeral using a three-camera setup — two cameras on the main floor capturing the service, the tributes and the congregation singing with the organist, and a third camera on the balcony giving a sweeping overall perspective of the whole church. The family's music choices were woven through the arrival and departure from the church.
A privilege to work alongside Lucy and the team at The Individual Funeral Company — one of Oxford's most respected independent funeral directors.
American Military Funeral Videography — North Oxford Crematorium
I was also recommended by Lucy at The Individual Funeral Company to film an American military funeral at North Oxford Crematorium & Memorial Park — a 4K three-camera shoot covering the full ceremonial service including a guard of honour, flag folding ceremony, bugler and a dramatic military aircraft flyover.
You can read the full case study here: American Military Funeral Videography — North Oxford Crematorium.

Venues I Cover in Oxford and Oxfordshire
St Michael at the North Gate, Cornmarket Street — one of Oxford's oldest and most significant churches, with Saxon origins over 1,000 years old. I have filmed here and understand the building's character and the technical considerations it presents.
North Oxford Crematorium & Memorial Park — the principal crematorium serving Oxford and North Oxfordshire. I have filmed here on multiple occasions including the American military service documented above.
Oxford Crematorium, Botley — serving Oxford and West Oxfordshire families with a traditional chapel setting.
University Church of St Mary the Virgin — the historic university church on the High Street, one of Oxford's most significant and visually striking venues.
Christ Church Cathedral — the college chapel and cathedral serving the Christ Church community, with a magnificent medieval interior.
Local churches and chapels — across the city and throughout Oxfordshire, from Banbury and Bicester to Witney, Abingdon and Henley-on-Thames. Many of Oxford's older stone churches present connectivity challenges that my bonded internet setup handles independently of venue Wi-Fi.
Natural burial grounds across Oxfordshire — the county has several natural and woodland burial sites. I have experience filming and streaming at natural burial grounds across the South of England — for more on how this works see my guide to live streaming a graveside or outdoor funeral.
Working With Oxford Funeral Directors
I have a strong working relationship with The Individual Funeral Company in Oxford — an independent funeral director known for their personal, thoughtful approach to every service. Lucy and the team have recommended me for a number of services in the Oxford area and the working relationship is always smooth and professionally coordinated.
I also work with other Oxford and Oxfordshire funeral directors and am always happy to liaise directly with your funeral director to coordinate timings, access and camera positioning in advance of the day.
Cultural and Community Experience in Oxford
Oxford's diverse population includes significant South Asian, Middle Eastern, African and international communities alongside established Anglican, Catholic, Methodist and multi-faith congregations. The university community brings families from across the world — many with loved ones in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East for whom funeral streaming is the only way to be present at the service in real time.
I have experience covering services across all of these traditions and communities, adapting approach, camera positioning and audio to what each service requires.

Shaun did an incredible job filming our family funeral. This was so important to us as we wanted to share the service with our families in Jamaica, Barbados, and the rest of the world.
From start to finish, Shaun was incredibly easy to work with. His availability during out-of-hours and late at night was a pleasant surprise. The finished video he produced exceeded our expectations. He captured all the culturally significant aspects of the funeral, ensuring nothing was missed. He worked tirelessly throughout the day, filming the family home, the church, the open coffin, the burial, and the wake. He wasn't intrusive, but worked diligently and with the greatest respect.
The crisp quality of the video and audio was beyond anything we or our family had ever seen before. We are absolutely thrilled with our choice and feel lucky to have found him. We cannot recommend him enough.
